  • Lime Maintenance Application
  • Over-seeding: Mature plants begin to slow down their reproduction rate. The practice of over-seeding lawns is the easiest way of keeping grass young. We broadcast seed using a rotary spreader.
  • Aeration: Core aeration is done on turf areas as a means of reducing turf compaction, improving the infiltration of water/nutrients, and encouraging deeper roots.
  • Starter Fertilizer: The soil may contain plenty of phosphorus already, but since it doesn’t move or leach, it may not be where the tiny roots can reach it.
  • Soil Test: Tells us which nutrients your soil needs and how much of them to apply in order to give your lawn the best possible opportunity for success.
  • Over-seeding
  • Power Seeding: Cut slits into the soil and drops the seed into the slits. This is more effective because it allows the seed to have greater contact with the soil.
  • Dethatching: Thatch is a layer that acts like a roof on top of your soil. The removal of the bulk thatch layer will help air and water get through to the soil. Additionally, if you are seeding, the thatch will need to be removed so the seed can get down to the soil.
  • Mulch: There are three good reasons to mulch. It smothers weeds, conserves moisture, and maintains even soil temperature in summer and winter. We apply mulch at least 3 inches deep.
  • Flowerbed Treatments: Uses chemical applications to get rid of weeds in flower beds.
    • Late Winter: February to March Post-emergent herbicide to reduce the number of weeds that wintered through in the bed areas.
    • Early Spring: March to April Pre-emergent for grassy weeds. This will help to control the appearance of grassy weeds in the beds. Spot treatment for weeds that have already germinated will be done as needed.
    • Late Spring: May to June Pre-emergent for broadleaf weeds. This will control the germination of broadleaf weeds through the summer months.
    • Early Summer: June to July Post-emergent for grassy and broadleaf weeds will continue to hinder the takeover of these undesirables in your ornamental beds.
    • Late Summer: July to August Post-emergent for grassy and broadleaf weeds will help to eliminate the weeds that will carry into the fall months.
    • Fall: September to October Pre-emergent for broadleaf weeds will control the appearance of weeds that would otherwise winter through in the bed areas.
  • Lawn Clean-up
